Warning: extremely nostalgic post ahead! Haha. Seriously though, it’s weird, this decade and what not, since I was a teenager when it began. It just hit me when I stumbled upon a familiar cassette tape that it’d been TEN. YEARS.

On 1/1/2000, my closest friends in the world, Mallory and her two brothers Adam and Tyson, (who are all pretty much my family.) recorded a tape of us just hanging out in mallorys bedroom making fun of people cynically and even more so making fun of each other. We talked about our favorite things, so when we got old we could listen to it and remember what we liked the first day of the new millennium..

Well, I’m not old yet but I must say ten years has gone by and it’s completely insane..we were horrible, and it’s like listening to nails on a chalkboard hearing our voices haha, but I wouldn’t change it for anything and I’m so happy that we sat up texting all night as I was listening to it, discussing our ridiculous inside jokes and how we made fun of people (karma is coming for us so bad lol) and we are going to listen to it on Thursday.

Now she’s married, pregnant, one brother is living 1000 miles away in Texas, and the other is out of the closet. And Im doing whatever it is I’m doing. No definites yet, still in school and at a temporary job, but doing what I love..being creative..and with the love of my life…and yeah. I feel like I’ve been through a lot in the past ten years, stuff that has forced me to grow up faster….and I know that Mallory and her brothers have too. But we are all still great friends.. And I still have a best friend I wouldn’t trade for the world. And another scary decade ahead of me.

Shall there be a 2010 tape….haha probably not.

but i’m buying a vegetarian cookbook. not because i want to become one, but because there are a lot of really healthy recipes out there and an overwhelming amount of them are vegetarian/vegan. and besides, i’d like to have at least one meatless meal a week, just because it’s good to not have some meat in your diet sometimes (uhmmmm yeah too much high cholesterol and high blood pressure in my family..and i’m already a salt addict..so yeah…) gonna help with the new years resolution.

i think i’m gonna try linda mccartney’s bestselling one, mostly because it isn’t for people trying to become veggies (me.)

oh yeah, my new years resolution is going to be to STOP EATING CRAP. and start exercising at least ONCE a week. (lame goal, i know, but…it’s going to be an insane semester.)
