dear person who commit suicide as i went to renew my lease this morning.

i don’t know who you were, or even if you were a male or female. all i saw was your body being rolled by me in a body bag. i also don’t know your situation, if you were mentally ill, or crazy, or what. either way i know you must have decided that no one would even notice your disappearance so much that you felt it necessary to take your life in my laundromat.

whoever you are, i’ve been thinking about you all day long. when i drove home tonight, i thought about turning into my apartment complex and seeing the laundromat and feeling a sinking feeling in my gut knowing that someone took their own life there this morning. i stuck up for you when people at my job made numerous stupid, insensitive comments trying to turn it into a humorous situation…when i finally made it to work after the emergency vehicles cleared out.

whoever you are, i hope you’re at peace now. someone noticed you. and felt grief for you. even though i didn’t even know who you were.
